Comedy trio The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone) have already released three albums and a bunch of hilarious videos and Saturday Night Live skits, as well as the 2007 movie Hot Rod. Now they have a new big screen movie coming out, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and today the first trailer has been released. Popstar stars Samberg as Conner, a rapper whose album bombs, forcing him to reform his old boy band. Schaffer and Taccone direct and Judd Apatow has produced the movie. It features an impressive roster of current comedians (many former SNL cast members), including Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader. There are also cameos from Snoop Dogg, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Simon Cowell, Adam Levine (as a hologram), and more. Samberg’s wife, Joanna Newsom, also shows up with blue hair and piercings, using a defibrillator on Hader’s roadie character, whose favorite hobby is flat-lining.
