Florence Welch broke her foot the first weekend of Coachella when she jumped off the stage after encouraging the audience to all remove one item of clothing. This has no doubt put a wrinkle in the promotional schedule for Florence and the Machine’s third album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, due out June 2. Case in point this past Saturday when she performed two songs on Saturday Night Live seated on a stool, which stripped a little energy from her performance but luckily couldn’t rob Welch of her powerful voice as she performed How Big tracks “What Kind of Man” and “Ship to Wreck.” Reese Witherspoon hosted SNL this week.
