This week’s episode of Documentary Now,! Fred Armisen and Bill Hader‘s excellent faux documentary show on IFC, spoofs Talking Heads and their 1984 concert documentary Stop Making Sense. Their fake band is Test Pattern and it also features Maya Rudolph and Superchunk’s Jon Wurster. The episode, entitled “Last Transmission,” airs this Wednesday at 10 PM Eastern and ahead of that a new clip of the band performing a song called “Too Much Information” live has been shared. Watch it below.
Gizmodo has also shared a video of Talking Heads’ Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth watching the episode. Frantz jokes that the “lyrics are better than David Byrne’s.” Weymouth admits: “It’s supremely silly. And I can’t imagine spending all this time and money to make something like this, but I’m enjoying it nonetheless, as a secret pleasure. I shouldn’t be enjoying it so much, but I am.” Watch that video below too.
