Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) released her new album, Art Angels, last fall via 4AD. Now she and her tour mate HANA has shared seven new videos filmed while on tour. There are four videos for Grimes songs (“Butterfly,” “World Princess Part II,” “SCREAM,” and “Belly of the Beat”) and three for HANA tracks (“Chimera,” “Underwater,” and “Avalanche”). They were directed by Grimes, her brother Mac Boucher, and HANA. They were all produced in a fairly DIY manner, as Grimes explains on Twitter: “They are guerrilla style vids, a la realiti, so there was no crew, makeup, cameras, lights. Just us and a phone, so maybe don’t expect anything too fancy. That said, we’re really proud of what we made.” Although, they look pretty great for videos shot on a phone with no lighting. You can watch them all separately below, followed by a “director’s cut” that edits them all together into one video.
