Watch: Grimes Recreates Iconic 1964 Johnson Political Ad in Support of Hillary Clinton
"The stakes are too high for you to stay home."

Hillary Clinton
On the eve of election day, Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) has recreated Lyndon B. Johnson’s iconic 1964 political attack ad in honor of Hillary Clinton. The original ad was against opponent Barry Goldwater and showed a little girl picking petals off a daisy before a nuclear bomb goes off. It helped him easily win the election. The new ad is pretty much the same, except it’s in color, has a close-up of Boucher’s hands picking the petals, and ends with her saying “Vote for Secretary Clinton on November 8. The stakes are too high for you to stay home.” Watch it below, followed by the original ad. Grimes released her latest album, Art Angels, last year via 4AD.
