Watch: Islands - “The Weekend” Video
Taste and Should I Remain Here At Sea? Both Out Now via Manqué Music
May 19, 2016
Islands
Islands just released two new albums on the same day, Taste and Should I Remain Here At Sea?, both via Manqué Music. Now the band has shared a video for Taste track “The Weekend.” Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979 directed the clip, which was shot on an iPhone in Bogotá and Santa Marta, Colombia. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
Islands’ Nick Thorburn had this to say about the video in a press release: “In February 2016, I was going down to Colombia to act in a movie and since it was going to be my first time in South America, I decided to go a week early. On a whim, I asked my friend Sebastien Grainger to come with me. My bandmate Evan Gordon suggested that I make a video while I was down there, and since I’m terrible at being on vacation, Seb pulled out his iPhone and we got to work. ‘The Weekend’ is, in so many ways, about the idea of being a tourist, physically or otherwise, so it all seemed pretty fitting. We shot the video in Bogota and on the streets of Santa Marta.”
