Watch: Jack and Amanda Palmer – “Wynken, Blynken and Nod” Video
You Got Me Singing Out Now
Oct 18, 2016
Amanda Palmer
Amanda Palmer recently teamed up with her formerly estranged 72-year-old father, Jack Palmer, for a collaborative album of covers entitled You Got Me Singing. It’s billed to “Jack & Amanda Palmer” and came out back in July. Now the duo have shared a video for their cover of the standard “Wynken, Blynken and Nod,” which was based on a Victorian nursery poem and first put to music by The Simon Sisters. Jim Batt and Kim Boekbinder directed the video, from a concept by Amanda Palmer. Shot in time lapse, the static camera shows off one room as it’s transformed, theater style, starting with a feast and getting more theatrical as it progresses. In the front lies a baby, likely Amanda’s own. Watch it below, via Pitchfork.
Amanda Palmer is on the cover of Under the Radar’s current print issue, the 2016 Protest Issue. The protest signs she made for the issue will be auctioned on eBay starting today at 2 PM eastern time, with all profits going to the American Cancer Society.
