Got It Covered is a new British charity album due out tomorrow via Silver Screen. It benefits Children in Need and features celebrities covering songs. One such person is British actress Jodie Whittaker, who plays the first female Doctor in the long-running British sci-fi show Doctor Who, and her song of choice is Coldplay‘s hit “Yellow.” Now the BBC have shared a video of her recording her cover. Little did she know that members Coldplay would be joining her in the studio, as the band’s Jonny Buckland and Will Champion surprise her and perform on the cover with her. Watch the video below.
Coldplay, meanwhile, are releasing a new album, Everyday Life, on November 22 via Parlophone/Atlantic. And Doctor Who is expected back on BBC America in 2020.
