Watch: Karen O Writes Original Song for Google Doodle
Celebrating the Life of Nellie Bly
May 06, 2015
Karen O
Yesterday Google’s homepage doodle featured a very special video tribute to Nellie Bly, celebrating her 151 birthday. Best known by feigning insanity and writing an alarming undercover exposé that revealed the brutality and neglect of a Women’s Lunatic Asylum, followed by a first-person account to turn Jules Verne’s fictional Around the World in Eighty Days into fact for the first time, Bly was a pioneer of investigative journalism.
Accompanying the video is a brand new song by Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O, written specificially for the animated doodle. Click below to watch and listen.
