Watch: Kindness and Trouble Funk - “That’s Alright”
Live From D.C.
Aug 01, 2012
Kindness
For “That’s Alright,” one of the highlight tracks off Kindness’ World You Need a Change of Mind, songwriter Adam Bainbridge took inspiration from Washington D.C.‘s funk/go-go music of the ‘70s and ‘80s, going so far as to sample “Still Smokin’” from genre stalwarts Funk Trouble. When it came time to shoot a video for the song, Bainbridge wanted to “try and take things a step futher,” and as a result enrolled Trouble Funk themselves for a filmed live performance. Taking place at the U Street Music Hall in the heart of the nation’s capital, Bainbridge says “playing with Trouble will remain one of the most awe-inspiring experiences of my life.” Click below to watch to the performance with “a slightly overwhelmed Brit at the back of the stage.”
