Less than a month after debuting a music video for their Synthetica title track, Canadian pop four-piece Metric have returned with another visual, this time utilizing their cut “Lost Kitten.” Shot over days in Mexico City by director by Sammy Rawal, the music video stars acclaimed ballroom dancer/actor Sheldon McIntosh (who is otherwise known as Tynomi Banks, the name he goes by when performing in drag in his native Toronto). According to a press release, it re-imagines “the archetype of a hero’s journey, as Sheldon searches for his house mother - an ‘angel.’ Sheldon’s massive presence is amplified with a sequin jacket and kitten heels as his mysterious pilgrimage leads him through Mexico City into the canal maze of Xochimilco on a flat-bottomed trajinera. He reaches his destiny, delivering an epic vogueing performance to celebrate his reunion with his house mother.”
