Danish trio Mew are releasing a new album, Visuals, on April 28 via Play It Again Sam. Previously the band shared the album’s closing track, “Carry Me to Safety,” along with a video for “85 Videos.” Now the band have shared another song from the album, the jazzy “Twist Quest,” via a lyric video that matches the album artwork and the visuals that accompanied “Carry Me to Safety” and “85 Videos.” Frontman Jonas Bjerre directed the clip, which features people dancing in abstract bird costumes. Bjerre’s lyrics are always so unique that it’s interesting to see them written out in a lyric video. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
Visuals is the follow-up to 2015’s + -. It’s also Mew’s first album since the departure in 2015 of founding member and guitarist Bo Madsen.
Read our 2015 print magazine interview with Mew’s Jonas Bjerre. Mew performed at Under the Radar’s SXSW party in 2015. That year they also kept a SXSW diary for us, made a mixtape for us, and wrote a guest blog on a British design TV show.
