Mogwai are releasing a new album, Atomic, in the U.S. on June 17 via Temporary Residence Inc. (and April 1 in the U.K. via the band’s own Rock Action label). The album featured reworked versions of the music recorded for the soundtrack to Atomic: Living In Dread and Promise, a documentary by director Mark Cousin that aired on the BBC last year and was about the nightmares of the nuclear age. Now the Scottish band has shared a video for “Ether.” It features footage from the documentary and you can watch it below. The band have also announced some tour dates, which are also below.
Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite is also part of Minor Victories, a supergroup also featuring Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, Editors’ Justin Lockey, and Hand Held Cine Club’s James Lockey. The band’s self-titled debut album is due out June 3 via Fat Possum in the U.S. (and [PIAS] in the rest of the world).
