Watch: New Order - “Singularity” Video
Music Complete Out Now via Mute, Teenage Cancer Trust Show in London Announced
Feb 22, 2016
New Order
Last September New Order released Music Complete, their excellent first studio album in a decade, their first for their new label Mute, and the first not to feature founding member Peter Hook (but it saw the return of founding member Gillian Gilbert). Now they have shared another video from the record, for “Singularity.” The video comprises of quick cuts of reedited footage from the 2015 documentary B-Movie, which is about life in West Berlin from 1979 to 1989 and was written and directed by Jörg A. Hoppe, Heiko Lange, and Klaus Maeck. B-Movie is from the perspective of musician Mark Reeder (who’s from New Order’s hometown of Manchester, but has lived in Berlin since 1978) and features Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld. The “Singularity” video features lots of footage of protests, riots, the Berlin wall, and underground shows. Damian Hale, who puts together New Order’s live visuals, edited the video. Watch it below, followed by the band’s tour dates, including a headlining show at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust shows.
