Watch: “No Tip” Clip from “The Comedy,” starring Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and James Murphy
There's Nothing Good on the Radio Anyway
Jan 27, 2012 LCD Soundsystem
This past week weekend the Sundance Film Festival premiered director Rick Alverson’s film The Comedy, starring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of the cult nonsense program Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. It also happens to feature an acting upstart by the name of James Murphy, who used to be in a little known band called LCD Soundsystem. Earlier this morning a clip of the movie surfaced, which pits Heidecker and Wareheim’s characters (with Murphy in the middle) against a hapless taxi driver. Though the official description of the movie follows along the lines of being a “look behind the curtain at the cost of American Utopianism and its uintentional byproduct of numbnessa and disconnect,” a more accurate take would be that’s it’s a honest look at aging hipster laziness and idiocy following a group of Williambrug Brooklynites. Check out the clip below.
