Always looking for a new way to push the music video medium, OK Go have premiered their latest visual blend of goofiness and art with the video for “Needing/Getting,” a song included off the band’s latest album Of the Blue Colour of the Sky. Directed by Brian L. Perkins and shot in the desert outside L.A., it features the quartet driving a two-mile stretch of road affixed with retractable arms and panels hitting over 1000 instruments. Taking months to prep and four days to shoot, the video apparently doesn’t use any stand-ins for the band as lead singer and guitarist Damian Kulash actually took stunt-driving lessons. You can check out the full video below (a preview was shown last night during the Super Bowl, a first for a music video). Needless to say it’s really impressive.
