Okkervil River
In the lead-up to Okkervil River‘s forthcoming album, The Silver Gymnasium, frontman Will Sheff has been providing fans a particularly intimate look into his years growing up in Meriden, NH. As his childhood nostalgia served as a direct inspiration for the new record, Sheff has done everything from release childhood photos to create an interactive map of his hometown. Taking things a step further after reconnecting his childhood friend Aaron Johnson and playing open mics around New England, Sheff returned to his very own high school cafeteria to play a few select songs from the new album and discuss his earliest attempts at playing music growing up. Click below to watch. The Silver Gymnasium arrives Sept. 3.
