Watch Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon Accurately Recreate Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round” Video
Aired on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Last Night
Apr 26, 2019 Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd has a history of going on The Tonight Show and recreating iconic cheesy music videos with host Jimmy Fallon. Last night they were at it again, creating a shot-for-shot remake of Dead or Alive’s video for “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record),” a hit from 1985. Rudd offered a perfect imitation of late frontman Pete Burns, with Fallon as another member of the band. The only difference was that the original video features three other band members, instead of just one. Otherwise it’s spot-on. Rudd was there promoting Avengers: Endgame, the massive Marvel superhero sequel that came out today. Watch the inspired recreation below, followed by Dead or Alive’s original video.
Previously Rudd and Fallon recreated videos for Styx’s “Too Much Time On My Hands” and Go West’s “The King of Wishful Thinking.” Seriously, who doesn’t like Paul Rudd? I’d really like to meet that joyless person.
