Watch: Pussy Riot on The Colbert Report
Group Speaking Tonight in New York
Feb 05, 2014
Pussy Riot
Last night, the recently freed members of Pussy Riot stopped by The Colbert Report. Through a translator, Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina refused to thank President Vladimir Putin for their release, instead praising their supporters, including the Colbert audience.
During Colbert’s sign-off, he sent a joking/not-joking message to Putin, putting on one of Pussy riot’s signature masks and addressing the President personally. Watch the interview below.
In related Pussy Riot news, the ladies will be delivering an address at Amnesty International’s “Bring Human Rights Back Home” concert tonight in New York. Imagine Dragons, Flaming Lips, The Fray, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Tegan & Sara, Blondie, Cold War Kids, Cake, and Yoko Ono are also slated to perform.
