Watch Real Estate Perform a Brand New Song in Boulder, Colorado

Unnamed Song Performed in Full for the First Time Ever at Fox Theatre

Feb 19, 2018 Real Estate

Real Estate released a new album, In Mind, last year via Domino. Last night they performed at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado where they played an unnamed brand new song. The band joked afterwards that it was the first time they had successfully performed the song all the way through (at a previous concert they only got half way through before messing it up and even in practice sessions it seems they’ve had trouble with it). A fan video has, of course, surfaced and it has decent sound quality. Watch it below (via Stereogum).

Former Real Estate guitarist and Ducktails leader Matt Mondanile came under fire last year after seven women came forward and accused him of sexually assaulting them in some manner over the years and Real Estate issued a statement to say that he was fired from the band “in February 2016 when allegations of unacceptable treatment of women were brought to our attention.”

Real Estate’s Martin Courtney also released a solo album in 2015, Many Moons. Read our interview with Courtney about it. Also Courtney did a joint interview with actor Jason Schwartzman for our Best of 2014 issue and you can read that here.
