Shamir
Shamir appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. He performed “On the Regular,” probably still his best-known song. His performance memorably opens with Shamir singing to himself into a bank of mirrors. After a stripped down first verse the mirrors pull back to reveal his full band, including a horn section. At the end he gives Colbert a hug. The song can be found on Shamir’s debut album, Rachet, released earlier this year via XL. Check out the fun performance below.

His voice is really high pitched. I thought the song was kind of weird but only cause I am not use to how different it sounds from other genres. I feel that it is a new kind of genre. I see a mix of r&b and pop a little in it but can’t quite make out the best category for this kind of music
