Spoon released a new album, Hot Thoughts, back in March via Matador. Previously they shared the album’s first single, title track “Hot Thoughts,” as well as a video for the song and a strange video for “Can I Sit Next to You.” Last night the band stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform “Can I Sit Next You.” Watch the performance below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates. Also check out our recent gallery of photos from Spoon’s show at the Sprint Pavilion in Charlottesville, VA, with support from The New Pornographers.
Matador released Spoon’s debut album, 1996’s Telephono (although most of their albums came out via Merge and their last one, 2014’s They Want Your Soul, was released by major label subsidiary Loma Vista). Hot Thoughts was co-produced by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT) and Spoon.
