Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks
Stephen Malkmus’ former band Pavement paid tribute to R.E.M. on 1993’s “Unseen Power of the Picket Fence,” a part of the No Alternative compilation, and on a cover of “Camera” as the b-side to 1994’s “Cut Your Hair” single. 17 Years later, he’s paying tribute yet again, this time with the Jicks, nodding to the legendary Athens band’s recent break up with a cover of their first single, 1982’s “Radio Free Europe.” Check out the clip from the band’s October 2 show at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta.
