Strand of Oaks released their new album, Hard Love, last month on Dead Oceans. Now the project of Tim Showalter has shared a video for “Cry.” Brody Bernheisel directed the clip, which features Showalter and his wife Susan Showalter in what a press release describes as “an intimate portrait” of the couple as they embrace, seemingly after a fight or tense situation. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
Susan had this to say about the video in a press release: “The idea was to have us just interact naturally, but as the song went on, I got more and more emotional thinking about what we’ve been through, and the fact that the song is really my perspective on everything. I think it does a perfect job capturing our relationship in a pretty unfiltered way, good and bad, laughing and crying. After I saw it, it felt so real and moving that it had to be the video. It just made so much sense…the vulnerability of it all.”
Tim added: “Couldn’t have said it better myself.”
