Watch: Sufjan Stevens Performs New Track “Harsh Noise”
Filmed As Part of the One Night Stand Project
Jun 12, 2015
Sufjan Stevens
Back in 2012 a one-night event was organized in Brooklyn. It was called One Night Stand, was put together by cellist Gaspar Claus, and featured Sufjan Stevens, The National’s Bryce Dessner, Porcelain Raft’s Mauro Remiddi, The Luyas’ Jessie Stein, The Men’s Ben Greenberg, and others. The whole thing is finally being released as a limited edition double LP on June 30 via crowd funding website Microcultures. There’s also a film of the concert directed by Derrick Belcham of La Blogothèque. Today Pitchfork premiered a portion of the film featuring Sufjan Stevens performing a composition fittingly entitled “Harsh Noise.” It doesn’t sound much like any other Stevens song. Check it out below.
