Telekinesis
Currently on the road supporting his newest album Dormarion, Telekinesis’ Michael Benjamin Lerner has premiered a brand new video for his single “Empathetic People.” Directed by Patrick Stanton the clip features Lerner making use of an old warehouse for his own purposes, powering up the building’s run-down machinery again to record and press vinyl copies of his LP. In an interview with NPR Stanton says, “The record pressing machines felt archaic and rhythmic. With industrial manufacturing dwindling in this country, I liked the thought of Michael being a bit of a hero by dusting off a defunct factory and putting some life back into it. [The song] has such a great driving rhythm and a mysteriously dark feel that I knew it would be perfect for this visual concept.”
