Last night on The Simpsons the town of Springfield was invaded by a whole mess of special guests. Titled “The Day the Earth Stood Cool” the episode centered around Homer and his new friendship with some emigrated Portlanders, voiced by Portlandia‘s very own Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein (with comedian Patton Oswalt voicing the pair’s snark-happy son). Also stopping by for a little self-parody were The Decemberists, making a quick cameo as Springfield Elementary’s new music teachers. Click below to watch two clips from the episode.
