Netflix had previously announced that The Punisher (aka Frank Castle) is getting his own series. The Marvel Comics’ character appeared in season 2 of Daredevil and was played by Jon Bernthal (previously known for playing Shane Walsh in the first two seasons of The Walking Dead, and also recently in the films Baby Driver, Wind River, and Pilgrimage). Now the first full trailer for the season has been shared and it appears to be something of an origin story, charting the murder of Castle’s family and his quest for revenge and answers. Metallica’s “One” plays over part of the trailer. Watch it below.
The Punisher will join other Marvel Netflix shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders crossover miniseries. No premiere date has been given for the show yet.
