Watch: The Knife - “A Cherry On Top” Video

The Knife
For a group that seems to do everything with such deliberate purpose and meaning, regardless of the finished product’s ambiguity, it’s strange to see The Knife deciding to follow the conceptual, feminist-themed music videos for their songs “Full of Fire” and “A Tooth for an Eye” with something so banal and uninspired for their latest track “A Cherry on Top.” One of Shaking the Habitual‘s more meditative, ambient selections, the video is nothing more than animator Martin Falck taking the bright pink color scheme found on the album’s cover sleeve and turning a grid into a repetitive swirling motion that never changes or does anything else. One might even say it doesn’t even qualify as a music video. Click below if you feel you’ve got nine minutes to waste.
