The Last Shadow Puppets
The Last Shadow Puppets (the duo of Miles Kane and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner) released their long-awaited sophomore album, Everything You’ve Come to Expect, back in April of this year via Domino and are releasing a new EP, The Dream Synopsis EP, on December 2 also via Domino. When the EP was announced they shared a video for their cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Is This What You Wanted” (which is more timely now that Cohen has since passed away). Now they have shared a video for their cover of “Les Cactus,” a 1967 song by French rocker Jacques Dutronc. The video features the duo, along with a backing band and string quartet, performing the song in the studio. Turner does lots of spirited dancing in between vocal parts. Watch the video below.
The EP includes re-recorded versions of previous tracks “Aviation” and “The Dream Synopsis,” as well as covers of songs by The Fall and Glaxo Babies. The band recorded the EP live in one day at Future-Past Studios in Hudson, NY. The EP will be released digitally, on CD, and on limited edition red vinyl.
