Now that relations with Cuba are normalizing, it’s also easier to shoot there (such as when Conan O’Brien recently filmed a special episode there). The New Pornographers have shot their latest video in Cuba. The clip for “Champions of Red Wine” was directed by Cudmore + Leblanc and centers on a foreigner in Cuba seemingly going through a midlife or existential crisis of sorts, as he drinks his days away and struggles with social interaction. The song can be found on last year’s Brill Bruisers album, which is out now via Matador.
