Wavves Officially Announce New Album, Share First Single, “Way Too Much”
V Due Out October 2 via Ghost Ramp/Warner Bros.
Jul 20, 2015 Wavves
Wavves have officially announced their fifth album, the fittingly titled V, after some recent rumblings that a new album was on the way. It’s due out October 2 via Ghost Ramp and Warner Bros. The band has shared the album’s first single, “Way Too Much,” which you can stream below.
Woody Jackson produced V, and a press release points out that it’s more of a full band effort than previous albums, as Wavves’ frontman Nathan Williams shares writing duties with band mates Stephen Pope and Alex Gates.
Williams tried to share “Way Too Much” on Soundcloud late last week, but Warner Bros. made him take it down. But he did manage to reveal the album cover and title then. All of this led to a series of defiant Tweets from Williams directed at the label, including this one: “You don’t scare me. I’m not scared of getting dropped or sued by u so what do u have?” Hopefully some fences have been mended now that Warner Bros. has officially announced the album and shared “Way Too Much.”
