Westerman Shares Video for “Outside Sublime”

Ark EP Due Out This Friday via Blue Flowers

Nov 06, 2018 Westerman

Will Westerman, who releases music simply under his last name, is releasing a new 4-song EP, Ark, on November 9 via Blue Flowers. Now he has shared a video for “Outside Sublime,” which was previously one of our Songs of the Week. Beatrix Blaise directed the science fiction-themed video. Watch it below.

Blaise had this to say about the video in a press release: “When I first heard it I instantly imagined glistening watery scenes, fireflies and some sense of harmonious escape. Out of that came a kind of visceral world, where each thing in it was trying to mirror a human softness and duality.”

The West London musician has already garnered attention for a series of singles and his 2017-released Call and Response EP. Previously its first single, “Albatross,” was one of our Songs of the Week.

Westerman had this to say about “Outside Sublime” in a previous press release: “I wanted to write a note to a struggling friend. I hoped it would be an arm on the shoulder for anyone finding things difficult. I wanted to be really direct with this, and for it to feel joyful and powerful in an unobtrusive sort of way.”

Westerman Tour Dates:

11/27 - Brooklyn, NY @ Elsewhere
11/29 - Los Angeles, CA @ Moroccan Lounge
12/12 - London, UK @ The Jazz Café
