For What I’m Watching an artist will simply tell us about a TV show they have been watching or a movie they recently saw. For this installment Johan Wohlert of the Danish band Mew writes about a British TV show he’s been into. Mew’s new album, +-, is due out April 28 via [PIAS] America. Mew are also playing Under the Radar’s SXSW day party at Flamingo Cantina this Thursday, March 19 at 4:05 PM.

Hailing from a long line of architects, I’m more than interested in the matter. There was a time where I even thought I might become one myself, then came music rolling into my young life and the rest is history…

Grand Designs UK-if there ever was a great TV show that’s the one for me! Hosted by Kevin McCloud, the show follows various people and their home building projects. What I love about the show is the pace, or lack of it. We, the viewers, are allowed time. Time to gently be taken through the building process, guided by Mr. McCloud and his endless stream of dry wit and genuine enthusiasm.

He must be one of the best TV presenters out there. Rarely do you come across a person better suited for the job. It’s all about finesse, and the subtleties, and that’s what makes this such a brilliant show to watch.

When I one day embark on a build of my own, I’m sure Kevin McCloud will be there in the back of my mind questioning my every decision.
