A few months back, to coincide with the band’s twentieth anniversary, Wilco announced the release of a rarities box set and best of compilation. Today the full details of the releases have been provided.

Both due out Nov. 17, the rarities collection is called Alpha Mike Foxtrot and will be available digitally as well as a four-CD or four-LP physical release, featuring exclusive studio and live recordings collected from the band’s extensive audio archives. It will additionally showcase 64 pages of liner notes that include track-by-track recollections from Tweedy, notes by band members Nels Cline and John Stirratt, and reflections from members of Wilco’s extended musical family. A number of never-before-seen photos are also featured. “Like a lot of fans, I had collected these straggling tracks over the past two decades of following Wilco’s every move,” says producer CherylPawelski. “Alpha Mike Foxtrot includes almost every unique, essential performance that appeared on soundtracks, tribute albums and B-sides-and there are probably a few surprises for even the sharpest collector. This set presents an alternate history of the band, kind of a sideways view, and ultimately, it’s a super-fun listening experience.”

The best of collection is called What’s Your 20, and will be available digitally as well as a two-CD physical release, featuring the “essential tracks” from the band’s eight studio albums and Mermaid Avenue, their collaborative work with Billy Bragg.

In addition to the releases, Wilco have announced plans for a residency of live performances at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre. The six-night stay will feature a different setlist every night.
