British art-rockers Wild Beasts have announced their breakup. In a typed up statement, signed by the band and posted to Instagram, the band wrote: “Wild Beasts are coming to an end.” The band released five critically well-received albums, culminating with Boy King, released last August via Domino. Wild Beasts promise to announce further details of ways they plan to celebrate the ending of the band with their fans (presumably some final shows).
The statement went on to say: “Our hearts and minds have been devoted to the band since we were teenagers. We’ve created something quite of our own and built a body of work which we stand by as heartfelt and true.
“The four of us have decided, for our own reasons and in our own ways, that it is now time to leave this orbit.
“We’re care takers to something precious and don’t want to have it diminish as we move forward in our lives.”
Read the full statement below, followed by some videos by the band.
