Wishy have shared a second single, “Over and Over,” ahead of their new EP, Planet Popstar. Planet Popstar is out April 25 via Winspear. Below, check out the song’s video, along with their upcoming tour dates.

The EP was announced last month alongside the release of its first single “Fly,” which was one of our Songs of the Week. A press release describes the EP as “a sun-soaked, hazy reflection on the band’s central themes–love, life, self-discovery and having fun. It’s a compilation of tracks that, when presented as a unit, shows another side of the band’s kaleidoscopic sound that deftly plays with nostalgia and genre.”

In the press release, singer/guitarist Kevin Krauter said this about “Over and Over”: “The major themes of this song revolve around desire, ambition, disappointment, acceptance, playing the cards you’re dealt, etc. I wrote this song in 2020 before the band existed, and since then had no plans to properly record and release it. I knew Ben would crush it on the mix and production, however, and Nina’s voice would send it over the edge. It simply had to be a Wishy song.”

The EP will be released physically on a 12” with the band’s previous EP, Paradise—which has never been released physically—on the vinyl’s other side. The combined release will be titled Paradise on Planet Popstar.

Wishy is just coming down from a performance at SXSW and another Colbert Show performance in the last few weeks. They will be embarking on a tour supporting Momma in May, as well as a Kilby Block Party set.
