Moby to Release Wait For Me on June 30th

Moby is set to release his latest DIY effort, Wait For Me, on June 30th through Mute Records. Recorded in his home studio and mixed by friend Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros, Throbbing Gristle, M83), the album is intended to be experienced as one cohesive unit and not as a series of singles-although each track is described as autonomous.
The first single, “Shot in the Back of the Head,” will be available as a free download beginning April 15th through Moby’s website, moby.com.
Accompanying the song will be a music video directed by the one and only David Lynch, who is rather appropriately also partly influential to the conceptualization of the album itself. Moby was inspired enough by a speech Lynch delivered in 2008 to ensure that the final product was something he could stand behind. “In making this record I wanted to focus on making something that I loved, without really being concerned about how it might be received by the marketplace,” Moby says in the press release announcing the album. “As a result, it’s a quieter, more melodic, more mournful and more personal record than some of the records I’ve made in the past.”
