Beth Ditto and Gossip lit up Liverpool’s Olympia Theatre with a thrilling performance, proving the band had lost none of their enduring power. The evening kicked off with an explosive set from Glasgow’s Dead Pony, who have been making waves since their 2020 debut. Frontwoman Anna Shields exuded star quality and brought some serious frenetic energy and charisma to proceedings, getting the crowd hyped for what was to come.

When Gossip hit the stage, they dived straight into the classics, kicking off with “Listen Up!” before segueing into “Four Letter Word” from their 2009 album Music for Men, instantly connecting with the crowd and pulling them into their world. Ditto’s vocals remained as astonishing as ever as she sang tracks from various “eras” and wrapped up a triumphant night with a joyous cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” sending everyone home on a high. Our photographer Andy Von Pip was there to capture the highlights.
