Lonnie Holley
MITH

Anyone who’s ever been in the same room as master craftsman Lonnie Holley has surely felt his shamanic presence. His debut from six years ago, Just Before Music, bottled that cosmic essence without any earthly interference; ever since then, guests have hopped on to shape these otherworldly jams into slightly more familiar forms. MITH, Holley’s first work for a bigger label, still retains the space dust shaken from his improvised divinations on keys, although the whole collection does meander toward the end.
