Midnighter #1

This was interesting. Midnighter is a sort of anti-hero that’s always several steps ahead of his opponent or whatever situation he finds himself in. The book establishes his badass bona fides quickly, even as it reveals tantalizing tidbits about his past, gets rolling on an off-the-charts interesting plot involving said past, and shows how, amid it all, he attempts to pursue a mature relationship. The art is snappy and vibrant and serves the story well. Good stuff, good start. (www.dccomics.com)
