Why aren’t these called singles anymore? Three songs—one of them previously released—and a remix only make an EP in the most minimalist sense, but we’ll take it. Where Does This Disco?‘s title track is catchy enough, but the release’s star attraction is the ridiculously fun and bouncy “Works Like Magic,” the first tune written together by all four of YACHT‘s current members. The song’s robotic backup vocals are goofy as all get out, but there’s definitely a feeling that the band is in on the joke.
The included remix feels like padding and it’s all over way too quickly, even for an EP, but if this is a taster for an eventual new YACHT record, it’s hard to be too upset. (www.teamyacht.com)
