Alt rock duo Gardenia is the project of New York-based musicians Ryan Zakin and Tamir Malik. After forming in the backroom of a recording studio, the pair debuted in 2023 with their album, Knowing You Know Nothing. Zakin takes on vocals and bass while Malik plays drums, forming a power duo with the pair drawing inspiration from the lean and propulsive sound of alt rock acts like Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, or early Arctic Monkeys.
