Over the past year, Los Angeles-based indie rock duo Mediocre have been fast on the rise, sharing new singles from their upcoming debut album, Growth Eater. Guitarist/vocalist Piper Torrison and bassist/vocalist Keely Martin released their Emotion Sickness EP in 2020, followed by last year’s punchy To Know You’re Screwed EP. Along the way, the band’s songwriting began to coalesce around an infectious mix of sounds, pulling from indie pop and rock touchstones like Jenny Lewis, Broken Social Scene, and Tegan and Sara.
