Vince Staples Kicks Off House of Vans Summer Series in Chicago

California rapper opened the season in style

Vince Staples kicked off House of Vans’ Vans House Parties in Chicago Friday night. The North Long Beach, California, rapper delivered a full set, on a minimalist stage, en route to a weekend performance at New York City’s Governors Ball music festival.

Since opening in Chicago’s Fulton Market district in 2017 House of Vans has become a mainstay in the city’s music scene, hosting the likes of Future Islands, Vice Mensa, and The National for free shows.

The parties’ bills are curated by the headlining artists, an impressive slate this season that includes a diverse lineup:
