Thor Film Adds Anthony Hopkins to the Cast
Upcoming Marvel Film Boasts Some Big Names

Marvel Studios begins its production of Thor this coming January, and according to this Variety blog, the main cast has been filled. Most notably, Anthony Hopkins is reported to be suiting up as Odin, the king of Asgard and father of Thor and adoptive father of Loki, who will be played by Tom Hiddelston. Chris Hemsworth (James Kirk’s father in the recent Star Trek film) is set to play Thor with Natalie Portman as his love interest, Jane Foster.
The film is set to be distributed May 20, 2011 through Paramount Pictures, will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, and is co-scripted by Zack Stentz & Ashley Miller of Fringe writing/producing fame.
