Alt-J released their third album, Relaxer, back in June via Canvasback Music. Now they have shared remixes of the album’s “Hit Me Like That Snare” and “Adeline” by Shade (aka Eric Balderose), the vocalist/guitarist of American metallic hardcore band Code Orange. He, of course, puts a heavier, more industrial spin on “Hit Me Like That Snare,” while the “Adeline” remix isn’t quite as intense. Listen to both remixes below. They are out now via Canvasback Music and Roadrunner Records.
Alt-J drummer Thom Sonny Green is a big fan of Code Orange, which led to the collaboration. Alt-J issued the following statement about the remixes: “It’s not often we get to collaborate with heavy artists so having Code Orange step up and give us two amazing remixes is a real treat. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.”
Code Orange’s Shade had this to say: “I wanted to dismantle the songs entirely and completely rebuild them as if they had come from a different world, and that’s what I did. See the world with Code Orange vision. No boxes, no boundaries, no fear.”
Dmitry Zakharov, a previous Code Orange collaborator, directed the visuals for each remix.

Previously they shared “3WW,” which featured the vocals of Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice, as well as a video for “3WW,” and “In Cold Blood,” as well as a video for “In Cold Blood” and a video for “Deadcrush.” They have also launched a web game on their website, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “In Cold Blood” with The Roots, and shared “Adeline.” They also shared a remix of “Deadcrush” by Berlin/London based duo Lea Porcelain, and another remix of “Deadcrush” by London based producer Ben de Vries.
