Chloe Black, known for her dark, introspective take on pop music, reveals her latest single, “Godless,” on September 20th. The track is a preview of her much-anticipated EP, Strange Little Bird” due to drop on November 7th.

“Godless” dives deep into the emotional turmoil of feeling lost in a world that offers no easy answers. Black reflects on a moment of existential crisis, asking, “What does an atheist do when there’s nothing left to do but pray?” The song balances raw vulnerability with a haunting melody, blending retro influences with modern introspection. The chorus, both primal and hopeful, encapsulates the cathartic release that comes when surrender seems like the only option.

As the final track on the EP, “Godless” serves as a powerful, unfiltered exploration of breaking down while still yearning for some form of redemption as Black blends dark humor with emotional candor shining a light into the cracks of the darkest moments.

Speaking about the song, Black shared: “This is a song I wrote on acoustic guitar when I was feeling broken, lost, and having a bit of an identity crisis. It’s vulnerable, sad, and introspective, but also has some tongue-in-cheek moments because, like so many people, I tend to deflect with humour.”
