Arcade Fire has just released a 21 second teaser video featuring actor Andrew Garfield dressed in a dress and wig walking through a concert crowd as Win Butler can be heard saying from a stage “we exist” and then Garfield is seen shaving his head. It’s likely for an upcoming music video for “We Exist,” unless there is a longer form video/film in the works. Although no formal explanation is given at the video’s YouTube page. The timing is deliberate, as Garfield’s sure-to-be-blockbuster superhero sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, also opened today. UPDATE: Stereogum points out that this was partially shot at Coachella’s second weekend during Arcade Fire’s performance of “We Exist” and that the video might tie into the theme of the song, in which a son comes out to his father.
