Blur have announced a pair of U.S. shows for October and they are big ones. On October 20 they will be playing the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and on October 23 they will be playing Madison Square Garden in New York. These are the British band’s only U.S. shows on the horizon apparently. The band’s long-awaited new album, The Magic Whip, was released earlier in the year by Warner Bros.

Also, last Friday the band performed 13 single “Coffee and TV” on a special 20th anniversary episode of the British TV show TFI Friday, which featured a lot of Britpop acts back in the day. Although really it’s the 19th anniversary of the show, as it aired from 1996 to 2000, but never mind. You can check out that performance below. The special also featured a supergroup in which former Oasis members Liam Gallagher, Zak Starkey, and Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs teamed up with The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Lightning Seeds’ Ian Broudie to cover The Who’s “My Generation.” You can check out that performance here.

Blur also recently announced a comic book, Travel to Hong Kong with Blur, which you can purchase here.

Check out the TFI Friday performance below and pick up tickets to their two U.S. shows via www.blur.co.uk/tour.

I went to see them a few times in the late 90s, they always put on a good show.
